Syd Atlas, born in Brooklyn, New York, has been living in Berlin since 1992. She has been known for her one woman shows performing in such places as: UFA Fabrik, Friends of Italian Opera, Volksbühne, Ex 'n Pop, Künstlerhaus Bethanien. She started making documentaries a few years ago and her first film, Sara, was in the Berlinale in 1999. Since then she has made other films including one for the opening of Tempodrom last year. She is presently working on another documentary called Max + Kerstin. |

A native New Yorker, Louey Moss is one of the foremost Gospel,
Soul, and Jazz vocalists in her "chosen home", Germany. Ms. Moss has worked
with artists as well known as Jocelyn B. Smith, Lady Vonda, and Reggie
Moore. Together with baritone Morris Perry, she formed the soul duo Double
Feature. With her band, Louey Moss is enchanting her audiences from Cologne
to Berlin, and from Hamburg to Vienna. She is also a professional vocal
coach, among her most well-known students are Meret Becker and vocal groups
including The Boyz and Finesse.

Also hailing from New York, Heather O'Donnell studied
at the Manhattan School of Music, Boston's New England Conservatory, and
Mannes College of Music. In addition to numerous engagements in the United
States and Europe, including festival appearances in France, Russia, and
Germany, she has performed as a soloist with the St. Petersburg State Symphony.
Ms. O'Donnell has been awarded various prizes and fellowships as a concert
pianist. She draws on a wide repertoire ranging from Bach's Goldberg Variations
to Charles Ives's Concord Sonata and beyond.

A native Berliner, Bob Rutman fled Nazi Germany in the 1930s,
eventually emigrating to the United States, where he studied art and, in
1966, designed the prototype of his steel cello and bow chimes. He founded
and toured with the Steel Cello Ensemble in the United States and Europe
the 1970s. Did most of his paintings, sculptures, and multimedia work in
Boston and New York in the 1980s, Rutman returned to Berlin in 1990, toured
with Einstürzende Neubauten and performed at Berlin's Atonal music
festival. He has performed and had exhibitions throughout Europe and the
United States and has worked with Peter Sellers, Merce Cunningham, Dorothy
Carter, Tanzfabrik Berlin, Wim Wenders. He's a Berlin institution.

Bob Lenox's professional music career started in 1957 as a 13-year-old
with Kiwi and the Dynamics. His multi-talent has since taken him from the
New York jazz scene to Los Angeles' Warner Brothers, and on to Berlin and
Paris. He has worked in clubs and for radio (RIAS) and composed "Judy Winter
sings Bob Lenox," recorded in the Renaissance Theater. As a poet, composer,
arranger, singer, and actor, Bob Lenox has combined the genres of dance,
poetry, music, theater, and film.

Born in France and raised in the United States, Pete "Wyoming" Bender
came to Germany in 1962, where he played saxophone, guitar, and percussion.
In the 1960s he toured Germany and, later, England, with various artists
including Alexis Korner and Toni Sheridan. Pete "Wyoming" Bender has consistently
performed at benefits for organizations such as Greenpeace, the American
Indian Movement, and the German AIDS Foundation. In Berlin and the United
States, Pete Bender is enthusiastically received, whether he appears with
his Pete Wyoming Bender Band, as a soloist at the piano or, as at this
event, together with his longtime musical accompanist Joe Kucera.

Patricia Barbano has performed in the German and
American production ensembles of famed musicals including Der Glöckner
von Notre Dame, Evita, West Side Story, and Guys and Dolls. She will be
joined by Michael Scott Ferris, a musical theater veteran who has toured
Europe and the United States in the casts of Evita, The Wizard of Oz (as
the Scarecrow) and The Rocky Horror Show.

Dead Joe Hill, a.k.a. Greg Dinunzi, a singer/songwriter from New York, blends the roots of folk music with the complexities of contemporary political problems. He sings political and historical songs to help us better shape the future. He also sings funny songs, because, well ... they're funny. Here he'll be singing: "Songs From America: Communiqués from the Persistence Movement." |

Dorothea Fayne, a powerful Mezzo-Soprano, was born
in Massachusetts and holds a Masters in Music from the New England Conservatory
of Music in Boston. She lives and works as a freelance artist in Berlin
and has performed in France, Italy, Germany, and the United States. Her
repertoire ranges from Wagner to Verdi to Saint-Säens, Stravinsky,
Britten, Pucinni, and Mahler. Here she will be performing classical and
musical pieces with her piano accompanist, Peter Castine.

Todd Ford, born in Michigan, has lived and traveled in Africa, America and Europe. He holds a BA in modern dance. Currently he has been working in experimental performance spaces in Kreuzberg such as SOX, Framework and Joliba. In the past, he has worked with Berlin Play Actors, Tanz Fabrik, Miscro Dansa, and other companies in Berlin. Internationally he has performed extensively in Washington, DC, and occasionally in New York, San Francisco, L.A., Italy, France and Germany, including as tonight performances with Bob Rutman. |

Eva Adams, highly
active with our organization since its February inception, will be making
a special appearances during the program with song and speech, not necessarily
as herself. Eva, one of the benefit coordinators, was born and raised in
California. She moved to Berlin in 1981 to perform as a jazz singer in
the club scene and now teaches voice for the Musikschule Mitte - Tiergarten.
She will be supported in her appearance by the mysterious 55Artist Formerly
Known as Jack Riddler.
